Equity Capital Markets
The Equity Capital Markets Group (ECM) at IPC Securities provides services to its clients and retail advisors in corporate finance, retail and institutional syndication, mergers and acquisitions, and market intelligence. ECM provides support in the origination of primary market transactions and manages the structuring of them.
Over the past year, the ECM group of IPC has participated as part of the underwriting group of new issues totaling in excess of $1 billion. We underwrite quality offerings with various types of structures. We primarily focus on structured products that consist of portfolios focused on fixed income securities (preferred shares, mortgage backed securities, corporate and government bonds, and corporate loans), income trusts (resource, business or real estate), and flow through shares (oil, gas and mining). As well, we are very selective in the underwriting or private placements of junior companies in the technology, biotech or resource sectors.
An ECM team member will also assist potential buyers in determining alternative equity and quasi-equity products available to them. Such products include straight common equity and preferred shares, flow through shares, as well as equity hybrid structures such as preferred securities, convertible debentures and income trusts.
